Managing Director (Maternity Cover 12 Months)
Contract Starting November 2017
Full time, based in Dudley
We are currently recruiting for a Managing Director to cover the current MD’s maternity leave for approx. 12 months.
Our mission is to empower those we support to set their own goals and vision, realise their full potential and live free from discrimination, equipped with the confidence and skills to contribute to the communities in which they live.
Summit House Support (SHS) has been supporting people in Dudley and Sandwell since 1992. Working with a number of diverse communities we support people in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, people living with HIV and the LGBTQIA communities. Those we support suffer multiple disadvantages, many come from the most deprived communities and often face discrimination and social exclusion in their day to day lives. Out of our building in the heart of Dudley, Summit has an excellent reputation for delivering customer focused interventions.
SHS has over 700 registered customers. During 2015/2016 SHS delivered 1345 individual interventions; whilst an average of 40 people per month attended our peer support drop-in.
The MD will give vision, set direction and provide leadership for SHS including the formulation and achievement of the charity’s philosophy, objectives and strategy.
The MD will continue to develop and grow the organisation through delivery of the business plan and developing social enterprise opportunities.
The post holder will grow, manage and support the services delivered by SHS. The post holder, working with the Board and team leaders, will identify, shape and prepare development opportunities; taking them from conception to project development and full integration into the SHS service delivery model.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the operations of the charity on a day to day basis including all staff and resources (including budgets) within SHS. The post holder will be ultimately responsible for the health of the charity and its financial performance.
We are looking for a passionate, talented individual who can continue the work of our current MD. An understanding of the issues facing our service users is essential, as well as having previously worked at a senior level within the voluntary sector.
